Above all - a brand must be a logical reflection of what customers want the product and/or service to feel like.

Good brand design must have an anchor in order to deliver this.

It's not about having a plan, it's about having a goal.

I have over a decade's worth of experience in brand positioning and advertising, with a mixture of that being agency-based and working independently with my own clients. Simply put - I'm a Graphic Designer, but I prefer to call myself a business designer, and my specialism is brand strategy and identity.

Where I differ from your average Graphic Designer is my onus on uncovering and aligning a businesses goals with its customers' needs. Several years ago I made a change to my process and brand strategy is now at the forefront of how I produce the perfect platform for my clients to be successful. Brand strategy provides the objective roadmap for every creative solution which comes afterwards.

Why is brand strategy important? in a nutshell, brand strategy uncovers what customers/users are looking for from their experience with a product/service. Consumers base their decision making on feelings and emotions, a piece of good design is near worthless unless what that business is offering is what the customer is looking for; this is why brand strategy is so valuable to a business looking to increase profits and gain loyal customers.

But we can go even further...good design, coupled with good brand strategy will make a good business a great one!
